Head of Lending Operations Sydney | Executive Leadership | Non-Bank Lending Ethos BeathChapman has been engaged on an exclusive basis to appoint a Head of Lending Operations for a high‑growth, well‑capitalised non‑bank lender operating across residential and commercial mortgage markets. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced lending professional who thrives in fast‑growth environments and wants genuine influence over credit decisioning, operational performance and customer outcomes. The Opportunity Reporting to the executive leadership team, the Head of Lending Operations will hold end‑to‑end accountability for lending assessment and credit operations. Leading a sizeable, multi‑location team across onshore and offshore functions, this role sets the standard for credit quality, delegated authority, and operational excellence. With responsibility for the organisation’s highest Delegated Lending Authority, the role plays a critical part in shaping lending appetite, supporting growth initiatives and ensuring strong risk and regulatory outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing lending operations function across multiple locations Oversee end‑to‑end credit assessment, underwriting and workflow management Hold the highest Delegated Lending Authority and provide oversight on complex or high‑risk lending decisions Ensure consistent application of credit policy, lending appetite and regulatory obligations Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems, automation and decisioning tools Embed strong governance, quality assurance and audit readiness Act as a key business partner to sales, pricing, treasury and product teams Contribute to senior credit forums, providing insight on trends, exceptions and emerging risks About You Extensive leadership experience in mortgage lending operations, ideally within a non‑bank or specialist lending environment Deep technical expertise across credit assessment and lending decisioning Strong working knowledge of NCCP, Responsible Lending, AML/CTF and related regulatory frameworks Demonstrated success leading large operational teams across onshore and offshore models Proven ability to uplift operational performance through process optimisation and technology Commercial, pragmatic and confident engaging with senior stakeholders A collaborative, hands‑on leader with a strong people‑development focus Why Consider This Role Senior, influential position with genuine delegated authority Opportunity to shape and scale a lending operations function in a growing business High visibility with executive leadership Competitive executive remuneration package How to Apply This appointment is being managed confidentially by Ethos BeathChapman.
