Our Sydney branch is currently seeking a motivated and trade-qualified Body Builder to step into the role of Workshop Leading Hand. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in driving workshop performance, productivity and quality. The Opportunity Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the Workshop Leading Hand will be responsible for supporting daily workshop operations while leading a team of skilled technicians. This hands‑on position requires strong technical ability, leadership capability and a commitment to maintaining Krueger’s high standards of safety and workmanship. Key Responsibilities Lead and support a team of body builders, fabricators and mechanics to meet production and repair targets. Coordinate daily workflow in collaboration with the Workshop Manager, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. Provide hands‑on technical support in body building, fabrication, and heavy vehicle maintenance. Mentor, guide, and train team members to foster a positive, safe, and high‑performing work environment. Ensure compliance with all workshop safety procedures. Assist the Workshop Manager to ensure jobs are delivered on time, within budget, and to customer specifications. Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workshop environment. About You Previous experience in a Leading Hand or Supervisory role (highly regarded). A trade qualification as a Body Builder, Fabricator, or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (essential). Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Commitment to continuous improvement, quality, and safety. HV Mechanical Leading Hand AIS accreditation (preferred) or willingness to obtain. Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse, multicultural, and multi‑skilled team.
