Adecco is seeking a dedicated Family Lawyer to join a dynamic legal practice focused on advancing the safety, rights, and wellbeing of individuals and families in the Barwon region. This role involves delivering high-quality, trauma-informed family law services, particularly for those affected by family violence. The position is integral to supporting the mission of Barwon Community Legal to create systemic impact through accessible legal support, advocacy, and education. The Family Lawyer will engage in court appearances, duty lawyer work, and contribute to broader legal practice activities such as law reform and community engagement. Responsibilities Provide family law and family violence legal assistance through advice, casework, and representation Manage a casework load in line with agreed performance objectives Act as duty lawyer in the Family Violence jurisdiction at Geelong and Colac Magistrates’ Courts Address related civil law issues for family law clients, including tenancy, debt, and child support Collaborate with team members to offer integrated, trauma-informed support tailored to client needs Your Profile Admitted (or eligible for admission) as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria Minimum two years post-admission experience managing family law and family violence matters Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with clients experiencing disadvantage Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver integrated support Understanding of civil law issues intersecting with family law, such as tenancy and intervention orders Benefits Base annual salary ranging from $103,799 to $118,441, depending on experience Additional entitlements include 3% above Award pay rate Five weeks of annual leave with three bonus days between Christmas and New Year Annual leave loading and 12 days of personal leave Non-profit salary packaging benefits available If you are passionate about social justice and have the skills to make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply.
