Regional Manager, Sales Engineering

Overview Datadog is seeking a Regional Manager, Sales Engineering to join our high-growth organization and world-class pre-sales team. You will manage a team of Sales Engineers to qualify and close opportunities, coach on technical presentations, product demonstrations, and POCs. This hands-on management role leads the technical effort in your region supporting customer engagements for key accounts and fosters partnership between the SE team and other Datadog groups. What You’ll Do Partner with the Sales Team to articulate value proposition, vision and strategy to customers. Manage a team of leaders and individual contributors, ensuring customer success pre-sale. Assist recruiting to hire top talent within your region; mentor new hires during onboarding. Ensure team is enabled to support all Datadog solutions along with key technical and soft skills. Develop close working relationships with Product Management, Support, and Enablement to ensure continuity between pre and post sales activities. Deliver semi-annual performance reviews and collaborate on individual development plans. Who You Are 1-3+ years in a Sales Engineering team lead or mentorship role and 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or other client-facing role. Coachable with a strong desire to improve and grow, and a demonstrated ability to navigate through change. Proven ability to grow and develop a team. Experience in recruiting both individual contributors and front-line leaders. Knowledgeable in current infrastructure and monitoring solutions and technologies. Able to build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer and mentor others on how to do so. Strong written and oral communication skills; able to articulate both business benefits and technical advantages while coaching others how to do so. Able to think strategically and creatively about a wide variety of challenges.
