About the role

Deliver best practicable assessment outcome, in either repair cost or total loss (i.e. Closed File Reviews, Open File Reviews etc.). Comply with motor assessing process, guidelines, allowances parts policy, severity coding requirements and repairer standards. Wherever appropriate, apply repair cost benchmarking, alternative parts reporting and scorecards to improve repairer performance.

Contribute to improving the customer service of Selected and non-Selected repairers. Provide customers with access to the prompt resolution of complaints, including repair warranty, service related and other issues. Meet or exceed productivity objectives. Complete total loss reports within 24 hours of assessment wherever practicable.

About You

Trade qualification and significant post-apprenticeship experience in their profession as a panel beater, spray painter or motor mechanic; or significant experience as a motor insurance assessor, or completion of the CAC approved units of the Certificate IV Vehicle Loss Assessing Course (desired).

Experience

in repair shop management / estimating and in motor vehicle assessing practices and in the provision of damaged vehicle quotations. (desired). Quoting experience (desired). A current driver’s license. Good understanding of the Motor Vehicle Insurer and Repair Industry Code of Conduct.

Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands. Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity and provide pragmatic commercial solutions to meet stakeholder expectations. Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software, databases, reporting and communication tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
