Where you’ll be working New England North West Mental Health Service is seeking dedicated and passionate Mental Health Clinicians to join our Inverell Community Mental Health team. Our multidisciplinary team—comprising Psychiatrists, Resident Medical Officers, Nurses, and Allied Health Professionals—provides acute mental health care across the New England region. Your role will be integral to delivering high‑quality mental health assessment, treatment, and support to individuals in our community. What you’ll be doing As a Level 3 Senior Social Worker, you will provide high‑quality assessment, treatment, and case coordination services to adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges. You’ll work closely with individuals on their recovery journey, contributing the psychosocial perspective to care, addressing psychosocial stressors, promoting family and cultural inclusion, and providing specialist input on family and domestic violence and child protection matters. About you We are seeking a compassionate and professional Social Worker who brings a culturally sensitive and person‑centred approach to practice. You should demonstrate strong skills in conducting comprehensive mental‑health assessments and engaging meaningfully with consumers, families, and carers, and you should have a deep understanding of the impacts of mental health on individuals and communities. Exceptional communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a flexible, proactive approach in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment are essential. Requirements Must hold a bachelor’s degree in social work (or an equivalent qualification) that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and willingness to travel as required. What we can offer you Up to $10,000 over the first 12 months, plus up to $5,000 each year thereafter via the Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme. Monthly allocated days off (full‑time employees). Permanent employment requires Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or New Zealand citizenship with a current passport.
