Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Ongoing Salary: Radiologist 1MISC08 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging About the role Western Health Medical Imaging seeks Diagnostic Radiologists and/or Interventional Radiologists for Full Time and Part Time contracts on an ongoing basis to commence in February 2026. A day session is equivalent to 8 hours for a part time role and 10 hours for those on full time. The additional EFT being offered is in line with the service delivery at the new Sunbury Hospital and towards to New Footscray Hospital. There is also fixed term hours available as well for the temporary cover for Maternity Leave and Sabbatical Leave cover. The role of the Diagnostic Clinical Radiologist is to provide high quality Radiology services to the patients of Western Health and its external referrers. Western Health Medical Imaging (WHMI) provides state-of-the-art comprehensive Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology services to one of the most culturally dynamic and rapidly expanding growth corridors in Australia serving a population of over one million. WHMI is an accredited Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) Registrar teaching facility. Subspecialty training in one of the following areas of Imaging is mandatory: Body, Chest (including cardiac imaging), Breast (including MRI), Musculoskeletal, Neurology, Nuclear Medicine (including PET), Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics. Ability to report MRI studies is also mandatory. The Radiologist must be competent in performing Tier A procedures and is a mandatory requirement. The role of the Interventional Radiologist requires the candidate to be adaptive, team focused and proactive. About you Membership of the Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (IRSA) Possession of or commitment to complete European Board of Interventional Radiology qualification Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology. Ability to work and participate in a team environment A record of research will be viewed favourably Teaching is mandatory Mandatory requirements for the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologists A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) which his recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Registration by AHPRA as Clinical Radiologist with a current annual practicing certificate Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in clinical radiology, including maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration Supervision and training of Junior Medical Staff and support of Western Health Strategic Priorities are mandatory Responsibility to report and perform other duties as directed by the Director of Medical Imaging Participation in the After-Hours and On-Call Diagnostic Roster as required cover all but Interventional Radiology Interventional Radiologists will participate in the Interventional Radiology On-Call roster as required Eligible to bill Medicare Position Description About Western Health Western Health is one of the largest healthcare providers in Victoria, caring for a vibrant, diverse and rapidly growing community of one million people in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
