At Strait Link, we're looking for a Workplace Relations Lead who can confidently lead enterprise bargaining, role-model best-practice IR, and help shape the future of a complex, operational workforce. This is not a compliance role. It's leadership, judgement, and influence when it matters most. You won't be managing from the sidelines, you'll be leading from the front. About the Role This role gives you genuine ownership of the workplace relations agenda in a unionised, operational environment where great IR truly matters. Enterprise bargaining sits at the centre of the role, not on the sidelines. You'll influence critical decisions, partner closely with senior leaders, and be trusted to operate with autonomy. You’ll be supported by a strong, collaborative HR & Communications team and a leadership group that values doing things properly, not just quickly. What you’ll be trusted to do Lead enterprise agreement negotiations and ongoing EA management Act as the go‑to authority on industrial and employee relations Represent Strait Link with credibility in union and Fair Work matters Partner with leaders to resolve complex workplace issues Build IR capability across the business and set the tone for best practice About You You're known as a calm, credible IR leader who brings clarity to complexity and earns trust on both sides of the table. People listen to you because you're fair, prepared and consistent. You'll likely bring : Strong IR / ER experience in a blue‑collar or unionised environment Deep working knowledge of Australian employment legislation The confidence to influence senior leaders and navigate challenge constructively We connect Tasmania with the Australian mainland through daily sea freight services between Melbourne and Burnie.
