Halcyon Knights are excited to partner with the Brotherhood of St Laurence (BSL) on the search for a Head of Social Enterprises.A genuinely purpose-led social justice organisation, BSL works alongside people experiencing disadvantage to address the fundamental causes of poverty in Australia with a mission to pursue lasting change and create a more compassionate society benefiting everyone.Leveraging a collaborative, insights-led approach via their programs and services, and through partnerships with the broader community and affiliate organisations, BSL focus on developing practical solutions that drive genuine, meaningful change.As part of their future Strategy, BSL aims:• To advance an ambitious national agenda to prevent and eliminate all forms of poverty• To build compelling evidence to advocate for policy and practice reform and systems change• To demonstrate, deliver, and spread effective responses that empower people to live the life they aspire to• To enable and empower all staff and volunteers to contribute to BSL’s purpose and vision• To enhance internal capabilities and a values-based culture to support organisational effectiveness and collaboration• To strengthen BSL’s organisational sustainability and financial independenceReporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this critical Head of Social Enterprises role is responsible for ensuring BSL strikes the right balance between social impact in pursuit of their ambitious strategy and building a vibrant, entrepreneurial social enterprise that contributes surpluses to their purpose. Bringing an innovative mindset and exploring new initiatives that have measurable impact, the 4 key areas of focus are:• Set the vision and design a robust strategy to achieve BSL’s social enterprise goals.• Bring an entrepreneurial approach to drive innovation.• Reinforce a customer- first mindset across BSL’s stores, employees, and volunteers.• Optimise operational excellence across BSL’s retail operations.Key success factors:• Demonstrated operational leadership experience in retail management with a strong focus on store management and eCommerce.• A strategic approach to managing a multi- located store presence utilising a large, de-centralised workforce of employees and volunteers.• A proven ability to identify strategic growth opportunities, develop partnerships and build new business revenue streams.• A genuine passion for driving a customer-first ethos across the social enterprises.• A hands-on change agent; engaging and inspiring others as a driver of entrepreneurship and innovation.• Highly collaborative with the ability to build strong cross functional relationships with BSL leadership and key stakeholders.• Exceptional interpersonal, communication and influencing skills across a diverse range of people.This is an incredible opportunity to join a purposeful, focused organisation and drive meaningful change, shaping a better future for disadvantaged Australians.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.Advertised:
