Maintenance Watch Engineer role at Virgin Australia – located at the Brisbane Head Office, Southbank. This role supports aircraft dispatch operations, focusing on aircraft ground operations and maintenance oversight. What you’ll be doing Coordinate recovery of AOG aircraft. Maintain compliance with Virgin Australia’s Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition. Capture defects and operational limitations, conduct technical reviews, and ensure rectification data in TRAX. Monitor and identify defects, manage rectification cycles, and enforce action plans. Notify relevant departments of all AOG aircraft and defects with operational limitations. Co‑ordinate with approved maintenance organisations for aircraft requiring ad‑hoc maintenance. Assess and act on critical messages from aircraft and crew, providing technical support to flight crew requests. Provide technical aircraft system troubleshooting advice to AMO’s. Coordinate and raise requests with manufacturers, Part 21 approved organisations, and CASA for Permissible Unservicability (PU), MEL Extension, Special Flight Permit (SFP), and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA's). Lead process improvement projects for department procedures and stakeholder interaction. Qualifications & experience Recent experience or certification duties on the B737NG/MAX type or similar operation preferred. Aircraft engineer licence in category B1, B2, or equivalent with type ratings and/or credits on current Virgin Australia aircraft types. Extensive experience in aircraft maintenance, operational or Maintenance Watch role. Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft structure and systems, including propulsion systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Working knowledge of CASR Part 42 continuing airworthiness regulations.
