Nori Maki is a modern Japanese hand-roll and omakase restaurant located in the heart of Melbourne CBD. We are looking for a passionate and reliable Commis Chef to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities Report to both the Head Chef and Sous Chefs to assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation Supporting other kitchen staff and train new staff when required Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures are complied with Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment Assist with timely food delivery during busy periodsContribute to menu preparation and assist with daily specials when required Requirements Relevant culinary diploma or at least 3 years of experience as a chef (if no formal qualifications) Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role Experience working in an Omakase-style kitchen (highly preferred) Strong knowledge and experience with Japanese cuisine and ingredients (highly preferred) Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent teamwork and leadership skills Food Safety Certificate (preferred) Full working rights in Australia What We Offer Competitive salary package Stable full-time employment Supportive team environment Career growth opportunities in an expanding business #J-18808-Ljbffr
