Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced HV Technician‑Transformer to join Powertech, supporting our Brisbane office on a full‑time permanent basis. Main Responsibilities Commissioning and maintenance testing of HV power transformers Construction, assembly and repairs to HV power transformers, bushing installation / replacement, leak repairs onsite and in workshop environment Application of vacuum and performing oil filtration / degasification Preparation of commissioning / testing documentation, test plans and detailed technical reports upon completion of works Conduct JSHAs etc. prior to commencing any new works to identify hazards and implement the necessary controls Primary testing of HV / LV transformers (i.e. Tan Delta / voltage ratio / winding resistance / dielectric response / SFRA, oil sampling) Knowledge of circuit breaker and switchboard testing (highly advantageous) Qualifications, Skills and Experience Unrestricted QLD Electrical Fitter and Mechanics licence Minimum 4 years’ experience post‑trade Valid driver’s licence HV switching ticket preferred Knowledge of appropriate Australian standards Proven ability to meet project quality, schedule and budget requirements Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders Powertech is an equal opportunity employer, and we support diversity in our workplace.
