Quality Assurance Lead

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quality Assurance Lead to champion food safety, quality, and compliance across our site. This role is ideal for a confident leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is committed to building a strong quality culture. As the Quality Assurance Lead, you will oversee food safety and quality programs, lead and mentor QA Officers, support audits, and work collaboratively with operations to uphold high standards of GMP, GHP, HACCP, and quality compliance. You will champion a strong quality culture and play a vital role in maintaining certification, customer requirements, and our Quality Management System. Key Responsibilities Quality & Food Safety Leadership Drive a positive food safety and quality culture across the site through education and engagement. Monitor performance against food safety and quality culture KPIs and deliver improvement initiatives. Identify, initiate and investigate food safety and quality issues. Work with site teams to deliver outcomes aligned with the Food Safety & Quality Culture Action Plan. Team Leadership & Coordination Lead, develop, coach and mentor a high‑performing team of QA Officers. Identify training and development needs to support continuous improvement. Manage QA Officer rosters, workload distribution and task rotation. Quality System Compliance Ensure QA tasks, checks and records are completed accurately and on time. Verify corrective actions and assess their effectiveness. Maintain and promote high standards of GMP and GHP. Support and conduct internal audits per schedule. Assist with product investigations, reports and customer responses. Monitor supplier performance and issue NCRs as required. Support all Validation and Verification activities within the Quality Management System. Audit & Project Support Support customer and regulatory audits and assist in closing corrective actions. Support the QA Manager on new projects and provide backup across QA functions as required. Additional Requirements Maintain strong safety awareness and escalates WHS issues when identified. Complete safety interactions and incident reporting within required timeframes. Participate in QA meetings, performance reviews and cross‑functional engagement. Assist on the production floor when required to support operational needs. About You We are looking for a capable, proactive leader who brings both technical skill and strong people qualities to the role. You will bring: Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar QA or food safety leadership role. Experience with iLeader, Promptu and Bizerba systems (highly regarded). Strong knowledge of HACCP, VACCP and TACCP. Basic understanding of AUSMEAT, Export, GFSI requirements and general QA terminology. Experience working with customer standards such as CFMSR. A strong sense of responsibility, accountability and ownership of outcomes. Ability to think ahead, show initiative and deliver efficient, safe and client‑centred outcomes. Ability to inspire, motivate and support QA team members. A high degree of honesty, integrity and professionalism in all work. Strong critical thinking, openness to alternatives, and sound decision‑making. Ability to establish and maintain constructive, respectful relationships at all levels.
