In this dynamic and hands‑on role, you’ll support day‑to‑day operations and contract delivery for one of Australia’s most unique and high‑profile maritime contracts. Working closely with the Contract Manager, you’ll lead day‑to‑day maritime operations, strengthen customer relationships, and create opportunities for contract growth while keeping our teams safe, engaged, and supported. As a Deputy Contract and Operations Manager, you’ll make a positive impact by: Managing daily maritime operations to ensure safe, efficient service delivery Supporting planning for seasonal voyages, port calls, logistics, and crewing Overseeing compliance with maritime regulations and internal standards Liaising with stakeholders, clients, and authorities to maintain operational readiness Coordinating and supporting workforce recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives Overseeing contract administration, reporting, and compliance activities Identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategiesDriving innovation, process improvements, and cost optimisation opportunities Serco is a place for you To Be Successful In This Role You’ll Have Strong experience in maritime operations Strong understanding of maritime regulations and operational risk (against ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MLC, MARPOL etc.) Tertiary qualifications in Marine Engineering, Business, Management or similar (desirable) Experience in contract management or Defence industry roles Strong verbal and written communication skills with diverse stakeholders Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment Knowledge of contract law, governance, finance, and risk analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems Are you ready to do important work that really matters?
