Mental Health Clinician, Child & Adolescent Triage Service - Tweed/Lismore Northern NSW Local Health District – Lismore NSW Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time / Part Time Position Classification: Clinical Nurse Specialist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist Lvl 3, Social Worker Lvl 3 Remuneration: $116,639.98 - $120,469.88 per annum, pro rata - dependent on qualifications Hours per week: up to 38 Requisition ID: REQ About the role Working in partnership with children and young people, carers and primary care providers to deliver an initial triage response to referrals for children and young people aged 0‑18 years with or at risk of serious mental illness. Providing a triage response 7 days a week, extended hours (8.00 am to 8.30 pm) across the Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) wide service responsible for responding to referrals to the NNSWLHD Child and Adolescent Mental Health service via a single point of contact. Key responsibilities Deliver initial triage assessments and interventions for children and young people aged 0‑18 years. Collaborate with carers, primary care providers, and multidisciplinary teams. Respond to referrals within extended hours (8.00 am‑8.30 pm), 7 days a week. Provide appropriate case management and referral pathways. Maintain accurate clinical records and reporting. Qualifications & Experience Relevant qualification and professional registration (e.g., Clinical Nurse Specialist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist Level 3, Social Worker Level 3). Experience in child/adolescent mental health or triage services preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication and assessment skills.
