What's the role about?

This role will be responsible for supporting key stakeholders on financial planning, understanding business performance and decision making. The role will also support the Finance team producing robust financial reports and forecasts.Drive material enhancement in the efficiency and quality of insights in financial / operational forecasting for the Australian business i.e. Telstra, Assurant Services Australia (ASA) + AlegreDevelop forecasting models and reporting tools using SQL, SAS, Microsoft BI or other similar toolsDevelop analytical reporting that supports the business to make better, more timely decisionsEvaluate and implement best in class forecasting and reporting tools and techniques - visualization, analytics, natural language queriesAnnual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, monthly Outlook and partnering with Finance leads to facilitate local monthly reporting and analysis into an APAC level report, and share business performance and insights with Country HeadsRolling FY reporting, provision of actionable insights highlighting trends, opportunities, potential and coming headwinds, and potential courses of action to Country Heads across APACDevelopment of financial reporting dashboards, analysis, and presentation of insights and alternative strategies to support business decisioningSegment analysis on Assurant clients and customers, variance causation, priorities, and proposal of actions to remedyPreparation of monthly management reporting for Functional heads, expense analysis, overruns, and recommendation of appropriate controls to mitigateFacilitating discussion of financial plans and targets with functional heads, and supporting the development of localized planning and strategies to achieve budgetPartner with the Actuary and BI team's to provide financial modelling for new business and acquisitionWork closely with Finance leads to support delivery of Assurant corporate actions such as capital injections and variance analysis

Does this sound like you?Qualified CA/CPA Accountant8 years of Management Accounting experience, preferably in the Insurance and/or Telecommunications IndustryUS GAAP experienceStrong communication skills with the ability to position messages effectively with Functional Heads, and business stakeholders across APACAble to articulate complex financial information, trends, and reports and communicate in simple terms that inform strategy and business decisionsExperience in managing forecasts and budgetsProficiency with Business Intelligence and analytics toolsExperienced in managing large amounts of financial data from multiple sources and systems, bringing together in useful insights and dashboardsExperienced user of Microsoft product suites. Knowledge and use of EPA and Sun Systems preferredAbility to communicate and adapt to cultural norms of the local teamExceptional honesty, integrity, and alignment to the Assurant values and ways of working
