Lily and Jack's place PTY LTD – Kincumber NSW Seeking experienced and motivated disability support worker to join a close knit supported accommodation team. If so then please keep reading We are currently looking to employ a number of dedicated support workers to begin working in participant owned service. (6 month probation period- Opportunities to then become PPT after probation period) The house will be located in Kincumber but, as we are currently transitioning this client out from her current house in Ryde, Sydney, support workers will be required to travel to Ryde for buddy shifts to ensure that you are able to begin working independently once the move is finalised, which will be Saturday January 3rd. House is located in Kincumber, On the Central Coast About you You have proven experience working within the disability sector and are ready to put your skills and experience in to action. You are reliable, adaptable, able to work well following instructions and also very confident working independently and taking charge of the day. You are not easily phased or rattled and you can always find the positives in a situation. You are able to draw on your professional and life experiences to make appropriate and logical decisions. You create, plan and take action to create opportunities and experiences for your clients. You have experience with challenging, aggressive and self harming behaviours. You also have experience in managing and deescalating both verbal and physical aggression. You are confident in managing them with the guidance of a behaviour support plan. You have experience with supporting individuals with an intellectual disability and autism. You are an active worker who enjoys being outdoors, participating within the community and overall being productive on shift. Sitting down and watching TV is the last thing you want to do This is a job that would suit someone who is already employed and has regular availabilities and flexibility to pick up shifts on late notice. About us We are a supported accommodation house, based in Ryde (Sydney) that is transitioning to Kincumber (Central Coast) that is participant owned and driven. This residence will house and support one young female resident. This participant is high support (No manual handling) and require 1:1 support at all times. What a typical day would look like for you at work Supporting our participant to have their medication, food preparation, domestic duties, personal care/grooming and tasks such as cleaning, washing, mopping etc, personal care support (no manual handling) and community access (museums, parks, national parks, public transport, swimming, mini golf, therapy appointments, bowling, bushwalks etc) This participant is in her early 20s, very physically active and thrive when their days are energetic, dynamic and meaningful.
