Assett Group Services and Bridge Housing are offering a practical and unique opportunity for a skilled Handyperson through a collaborative partnership. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys contributing to safe, well‑maintained homes and communities. The successful candidate will be employed by Assett on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract, with a strong view to transitioning to permanent employment with Bridge Housing. Working across both organisations, the Handyperson will play a vital role in delivering responsive maintenance and minor works predominantly on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and other areas as required across the Sydney basin. A company vehicle and competitive annual salary is on offer for this opportunity. As our Handyperson, your main duties will include: Evaluation and repair minor faults Replacing light bulbs, repair door locks, patching holes in walls, painting Other general handyperson maintenance tasks as required and within skill level Using the businesses nominated work order system to undertake allocated maintenance tasks Liaising with external contractors where required Ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures, requirements, and standards Skills & Experience Candidates must hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency status. Physically fit with the ability to carry out manual handling duties. Minimum 1‑2 years of residential or commercial painting experience. Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Ability to navigate a computer and mobile device. Demonstrated experience working unsupervised and under time constraints. A good eye for detail and skills to execute workmanship to a high standard. A Supervisor/Building or Trade/Apprenticeship Certificate. Current valid NSW Driver's Licence. White Card. Asbestos Management and Control in the Workplace Certificate. Relevant Trades or Builders Licence. Lead Abatement Certificate. Safe Work at Heights Certificate. Previous experience working at (limited) heights including working overhead. Interested?
