The Opportunity Joining our hospitality team as a Cook or Chef, you’ll enjoy working in our kitchen to prepare high‑quality daily meals for residents. You’ll be a great communicator, enjoy being hands‑on, have a passion for food and build relationships with residents. No matter your experience as a Kitchenhand, Cook or Chef, come and join our team We are opening Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Casual and Part Time Chefs and Cooks to join our team across our Melbourne East retirement communities. What we offer From $28.62p/h+ relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances + superannuation Employee Referral Program and Employee Assistance Program Discounts to Health Insurance and Retail & Leisure partner providers Opportunities for further career progression (e.g. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery to develop into a qualified Chef) Be part of a friendly and supportive team in a caring retirement living community Your Impact Provide restaurant‑style kitchen and dining service Assist in the daily kitchen preparation and serving of meals Ensuring daily quality meal service to residents and visitors of the surrounding Aveo Community Daily monitoring of food safety plans and following all Food Services procedures What you’ll bring Knowledge and/or experience in catering/kitchen/hospitality settings (e.g. experience in food preparation) Food Safety Certificate or Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (desirable) A friendly and warm persona with a passion for food and chatting with residents Current Police check (required, but we can complete for you) Minimum of two (2) COVID‑19 Vaccinations (required) Who we are As a leader in retirement living, with 30 years’ experience, Aveo provides the stability and confidence to try new things and keep innovating.
