Senior Data Engineer (Analytics Engineer) Location: Sydney / Hybrid. Base Pay: $155k – $170k base Doe plus 16% bonus and super. Company: Talent Insights Group. The Opportunity This role sits within the upstream data engineering squad, responsible for building and maintaining core data layers and products that power analytics and decision‑making across multiple brands. Responsibilities Own the full lifecycle of data products – from raw ingestion through to curated layers. Design and develop scalable pipelines and models that serve BI and advanced analytics teams. Take accountability for data quality, performance, and interpretation of key business metrics. Contribute to the evolution of best practices in data modelling, orchestration, and governance. Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data delivers real commercial value. What You’ll Be Working On Integrating and transforming data from multiple hybrid source systems (some legacy). Supporting a multi‑brand marketplace with varying definitions of customers, campaigns, and KPIs. Uplifting and enriching data products to deliver insights such as product performance and competitor pricing. Moving beyond reporting to create data products that drive tangible commercial outcomes. Tech Environment Airflow for orchestration Collibra for data governance Cloud Run and Fivetran integrations Tableau / Looker for reporting and visualization Mix of modern and legacy data sources About You You’re a hands‑on data engineer with strong analytics instincts – someone who understands that great data products come from balancing technical design with business context. Proven experience in data engineering or analytics engineering (preferably within GCP). Expertise in SQL, data modelling, and pipeline orchestration. A mindset of ownership – you care about what happens after your pipeline runs. The ability to mentor and collaborate in a small but growing team.
