Set in the heart of the Grampians, we offer quality rooms and exceptional hospitality in a warm, welcoming environment. Our on-site Restaurant seats up to 100 guests and is open 24 hours, seven days a week, serving delicious meals and outstanding service. We pride ourselves on providing comfort, care, and a great experience for every guest. Position Chef/Cook (Full-time, Day/Evening Shift) About the Role As a Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our kitchen. You will assist in menu planning, food preparation, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with creativity, leadership, and a love for producing great food. Key Responsibilities Preparing a range of modern meals for guests of the venue, including main meals, dinner and snacks to a high standard Preparing and cooking meals following the dietary requirements and preferences of the guests Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, following food safety standards Collaborating with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations Providing friendly and respectful service to the guests Ensuring menus, food standards, procedures and processes are followed Supervising and managing kitchen operations as required Maintaining standards for food storage, rotation, quality and appearance Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen area is in line with current health regulation standards Skills & Qualifications Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent internationally recognised qualification) Proven experience working as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment Sound knowledge of Australian food safety and workplace health & safety compliance Strong knife skills and versatility in cooking techniques Excellent time management and ability to perform under pressure Creativity and passion for menu development and food presentation Strong leadership and communication skills Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays What We Offer Opportunity to work with fresh, high-quality produce A supportive and dynamic team environment Career growth and training opportunities Staff meals and other benefits About Country Plaza Motel Halls Gap, VIC, Australia #J-18808-Ljbffr
