Our client is the Australian Government department responsible for supporting a productive, resilient and sustainable economy, strengthened through science, technology, and industry. This team leads the delivery of modern digital solutions, partners with business stakeholders to shape technology strategy, and provides high‑quality ICT support that ensures staff have stable, secure, and efficient systems. The role will provide onsite technical support and contribute to key ICT projects and sits within a collaborative ICT Operations environment and provides direct support to a specialised program and infrastructure projects team. About the Role You will work as part of the ICT Support Team, with a strong focus on onsite support for a major program and its associated infrastructure projects. You will assist in delivering multiple ICT initiatives, including security uplift activities, SOE rollout, and operational device upgrades. You will also contribute to day‑to‑day ICT support functions when available, working within a supportive team committed to excellent customer service and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Support multiple ICT projects, particularly those focused on uplifting security and modernising the environment. Assist in requirements gathering and preparation of project deliverables. Provide advanced technical support and rollout assistance across various desktop technologies. Deliver Level 2 ICT support across hardware, software, video‑conferencing systems, and peripheral devices. Provide onsite support across multiple locations as required. Assist with provisioning ICT equipment, managing assets, and maintaining accurate records. Collaborate with Level 3 teams (Networks, Servers, Infrastructure) and external vendors to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and warranty tasks. Monitor incidents and tasks to meet service‑level expectations. Identify knowledge gaps and develop documentation and knowledge base articles. Work closely with enablement teams to resolve ICT issues and maintain high customer service standards. Liaise with lab managers and technical teams to resolve specialised support needs. Work Location & Model This role is primarily based onsite in Melbourne City fringe. There may also be requirements to support additional sites in NSW. Flexible work options may be considered, but regular onsite attendance is essential. Hours are Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with some flexibility depending on project needs. About You Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to handle complex or escalated technical issues. Experience delivering Level 2 ICT support, including incident triage, equipment provisioning, and video‑conferencing support. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively. Strong organisational skills, including managing competing priorities and supporting continuous improvement. Experience creating and maintaining ICT knowledge articles and process documentation. Adaptability within a dynamic service delivery environment. Confidence providing project updates and supporting project activities.
