The function aspires to continuously raise the bar and set leading standards across the industry to help HSBC safeguard its customers and the communities in which it operates.The Senior Manager Financial Crime Compliance Advisory, Commercial (CMB) & Global Banking (CBM) for Australia and New Zealand is a key strategic risk management role that has a broad remit and responsibilities for leading implementation and management, with guidance from the Head of Financial Crime Compliance, of all aspects of Compliance including impact analysis of regulatory changes and driving coordination and execution of the various Compliance work streams in Australia and New Zealand.
The role is responsible for ensuring that HSBC’s operations in Australia and New Zealand are effective in identifying, managing and mitigating Financial Crime risks and ensuring timely advice is provided to the business. This role requires strong partnership with both businesses and the leadership team, staying at the forefront of regulatory and industry changes, accountable for the implementation of compliance policies.The Senior Manager Financial Crime Compliance Advisory, Commercial (CMB) & Global Banking (CBM) for Australia and New Zealand is a critical forward thinking leadership role, but has no direct or indirect reports.Key Responsibilities:Act as a role model for the Financial Crime Compliance Advisory team for HSBC Bank Australia Ltd and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Sydney and New Zealand Branches in relation to Financial Crime risks.Support Commercial Banking and Global Banking lines of business to maintain an effective control framework and to ensure compliance with all relevant external laws & regulations, internal codes and policies, good market practices, and industry standards.Provide advisory services to CMB & GBM business to ensure clear understanding of compliance and financial crime risk exposure with respect to clients, transactions and products.Provide guidance to junior team members, be an escalation point for any matter within the team and help with their performance and development.Responsible for second line governance of Financial Crime risks exposures, providing analysis, reporting and governance that is independent of the first line of defence, thereby maintaining an objective assessment of risk exposure.Exercise risk steward challenge, act as independent trusted advisor in governance forums, undertake issue management and work closely with risk owners and control owners.Requirements:In-depth knowledge of CMB and/or GBM product and services.Experience dealing with regulatory matters within Australia and New Zealand.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facing all levels of management, including executives .Capacity to articulate the case for risk management and policy in the language of business.Proven track record in stakeholder management.A proactive attitude and ability to work independently.Degree in a related fieldPreference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.We value different perspectives, we succeed together, collaborating across boundaries, we take responsibility, holding ourselves accountable to get things done.
