We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our Group Tax team, reporting into our Senior Tax Manager. Our Group Tax Team provides advice, no fuss compliance and risk management to support Lion’s growth aspirations.

You will provide practical indirect tax guidance to support commercial outcomes. You will also have plenty of opportunity to add value through automation, analytics and process improvement initiatives.

This role works closely with a broad range of internal stakeholders such as Finance, Supply Chain and External Relations teams, as well as external advisors and tax authorities. You will gain exposure to senior management, providing extraordinary learning and growth opportunities.

This is a brilliant opportunity to broaden your expertise and accelerate your career at a company that is committed to developing its people.A day in the life:Provide tax and risk management advice to protect and drive business performanceProvide operational tax advice on projects such as acquisitions and new site setupsSupport the preparation and critical review of compliance activities for a broad range of indirect taxes, including GST, Excise, WET and State TaxesSupport indirect tax advocacy and the evolution of Lion’s indirect tax strategyDrive continuous improvement through simplification and automation using the latest technologyPerform financial analysis and provide valuable insights to support decision-makingCompleting general ledger reviews and reconciliations to ensure compliance and data integrity in accounting dataContribute to tax initiatives, policies and procedures, and manage process improvement projects.What will make you successful:We are seeking an agile and technologically savvy person who thrives on delivering outstanding results in a collaborative team environment. The successful candidate will ideally have:5-8 years’ postgraduate experience in a business services role or an in-house Tax/Corporate Accountant roleSkill in accounting and financial reconciliations with significant exposure to tax compliance activitiesAttention to detail and strong problem-solving skillsThe ability to manage priorities whilst being adaptable to changing circumstancesStrong planning and time management skillsExcellent communication and partnering skills and ability to work well in a teamA continuous improvement mindset.This is a permanent, full-time role based in Sydney, with the ability to work flexibly from home.
