Lower Hunter Speech Pathology is seeking a Level 1–2 Speech Pathologist to join our team in a maternity leave backfill position, working across two welcoming sites. Remuneration: $76,364 – $108,943 per annum + superannuation + salary packaging Location: East Maitland Community Health and Cessnock / Kurri Kurri Hospitals Employment Type: Temporary Full Time - Until February 2027 Position Classification: Speech Pathologist Level 1/2 Requisition ID: REQ Applications Close: Sunday 30th November 2025 About the Role This unique dual-site role offers variety, strong team support, and opportunities for ongoing professional development. You will work 0.4 FTE at East Maitland Community Health and 0.6 FTE at Cessnock and Kurri‑Kurri Hospitals. Across both settings, you will be backed by experienced clinicians within the Lower Hunter Speech Pathology service and the broader multidisciplinary teams at each site. Your Caseload Primarily outpatient paediatric clients across both locations Adult inpatient caseload (communication and swallowing) at Cessnock/Kurri Kurri Hospitals A truly generalist mix, ideal for clinicians wanting to consolidate skills or broaden their scope What We’re Looking For A developing or established generalist skill set, including paediatric community work and adult acute care Confidence or interest in managing communication and swallowing disorders A collaborative, adaptable approach within multidisciplinary teams What We Offer Structured peer and team supervision Daily access to senior clinicians and site-based colleagues Professional development opportunities tailored to your goals The chance to contribute to Lower Hunter Speech Pathology working groups and quality improvement projects Requirements Must hold a bachelor or post‑graduate degree in speech pathology that provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or another qualification deemed equivalent by the employer Additional Information To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa. This position is full time; however, job share arrangements will be considered.
