We are passionate about what we do. The Role We are seeking a Technical Coordinator (Lifting & Rigging) to join our growing team on a full‑time basis. In this role you will be accountable for developing and implementing lifting strategies, reviewing complex and engineered lift plans, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards. Duties and Responsibilities Technical and Engineering Support Act as the subject matter expert for lifting and rigging activities across projects and operations. Review, develop, and approve lifting plans, lifting studies, and engineered lift solutions, including complex and critical lifts. Provide technical input to method statements, risk assessments, and construction execution plans related to lifting operations. Support project and operations teams with technical guidance during planning and execution phases. Interface with clients, engineering teams, construction teams, and HSE personnel to ensure alignment and safe execution. Project Coordination Coordinate lifting and rigging activities in support of project schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project execution plans. Interface with project managers, engineers, construction teams, and HSE personnel to support effective planning and delivery of project scope. Assist with the planning, sequencing, and resource coordination of lifting activities across multiple work fronts. Monitor progress of lifting‑related activities and report status, risks, and constraints to project stakeholders. Support project meetings, reviews, and planning sessions by providing technical input and coordination support. Assist in identifying project risks and constraints related to lifting and rigging and support mitigation planning. Support change management by assessing technical and execution impacts of scope or schedule changes affecting lifting operations. Lifting Operations & Assurance Coordinate and oversee lifting and rigging activities to ensure compliance with company standards, client specifications, and applicable regulations (e.g. LOLER, LEEA, API, ISO). Verify lifting equipment certification, inspection records, and suitability for purpose. Participate in audits, inspections, and assurance activities related to lifting and rigging. Promote and uphold a strong safety culture in all lifting and rigging activities. Identify hazards and support risk assessments for lifting operations. Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions related to lifting and rigging events. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned. Promote Vertech values in everyday activities. Documentation and Reporting Maintain accurate technical records, lifting documentation, and approvals. Prepare technical reports, assessments, and recommendations as required. Support development and updating of company lifting and rigging procedures, standards, and guidance documents. Required Qualifications High Risk Work Licences (HRWL) with extensive practical background (current or lapsed acceptable for SME roles): Rigging – Advanced (RA). LEEA Certification. Drivers Licence. Skills and Experience Minimum 5 years operational / project environment experience in the resource industry. Independent verification or technical authority experience, including: Reviewing and approving engineered lift plans. Acting as a technical sign‑off authority. Providing expert input to risk reviews, audits, and assurance activities. Additional Requirements You must have Australian working rights to be eligible for this role.
