As an Aeromedical Control Centre Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACC CNS), you’ll use your advanced clinical expertise to support rural health teams and provide critical guidance for patient care. In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To Triages and coordinate the transfer of acutely and critically ill patients to the most appropriate receiving hospital Provide expert clinical advice and real-time support to rural health staff during patient transfers. Monitor each transfer to ensure safe, clinically appropriate progress and outcomes. Deliver ongoing education and mentorship to enhance rural health capabilities within established policy frameworks. About You You thrive in fast-paced clinical environments and are passionate about delivering exceptional care to critically ill patients. Your advanced assessment skills and calm approach enable you to prioritise competing demands while supporting colleagues and patients. We’re Looking For Someone Who Holds current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and maintains all regulatory requirements. Brings at least three years of recent critical care nursing experience, including a minimum of two years in an Emergency Department and one year of demonstrated triage experience (or equivalent). Demonstrates advanced critical care assessment, care planning, and problem-solving skills to manage acutely and critically ill patients independently. Has relevant postgraduate qualifications such as a Graduate Certificate in Emergency, Critical Care, Intensive Care, or Aviation Nursing; tertiary hospital experience and/or midwifery qualifications are desirable. Understands NSW Health Trauma and Critical Care Networks Policy Directives and can apply these to patient transfer decision-making. Excels in communication, consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution within multidisciplinary teams. Shows leadership qualities, acting as a mentor and resource for peers while fostering a collaborative team culture. Possesses strong computer literacy, including accurate typing skills and proficiency with Windows-based applications.
