About the Audit Public Sector Team Our team delivers world‑class audit experience with deep, specialist knowledge of the public sector, working with: • Central government bodies • Local government bodies including councils, police and fire bodies • NHS Trusts and Integrated Commissioning Boards Hear From Our School Leaver Apprentice, Jo “The Partner I work with was really keen to share her knowledge with me, and I felt I could ask her questions from the first day.” About the Role As an apprentice, you will undergo a four‑year training contract with the following stages: Years 1–2: Master the art of auditing – learn to prepare meticulous audit documents using the latest software and methodologies.  Key tasks include: • Understanding financial statements – balance sheets, income statements and cash flows • Working side by side with clients – gaining insight into diverse business operations • Building relationships with stakeholders, both externally and internally Years 3–4: Take on increasingly complex audit work such as revenue recognition, valuation, and risk assessments.  You will own audit engagements, leading delivery, and mentor junior team members.  You will be employed permanently – the contract marks the beginning of an exceptional career with Forvis Mazars. Responsibilities Prepare meticulous audit documents and financial statements. Work directly with a diverse array of clients to understand their operations and challenges. Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders. Take ownership of audit engagements, delivering high‑quality work. Mentor and support junior teammates as you progress. Adhere to a flexible working environment and be willing to travel. Qualifications On‑track or have obtained A‑level, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications. Excellent academic performance; however we consider the whole candidate profile. Deep curiosity, naturally inquisitive, and a strong commitment to learning. Critical thinking, problem‑solving, and knowledge sharing ability. High sense of ownership, responsibility, and a positive “can‑do” attitude. Excellent time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Willingness to travel and adapt to diverse working environments.
