About the Role As the Workforce Development Facilitator – Youth, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting young Tasmanians (aged 15–25) to connect with meaningful employment, training, and education pathways. Working within the Northern Employment and Business Hub (NEBHUB), you’ll build strong relationships with local employers, schools, training providers, and community organisations to create real opportunities for young people. This newly created role offers the chance to work across six LGAs—Flinders Island, George Town, Meander Valley, Northern Midlands, West Tamar, and Launceston—with a base at the Launceston Hub. This is a hands‑on, community‑facing role where your ability to engage, coordinate, and innovate will directly impact lives and local industries. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of workforce development strategies Facilitate school‑based employment pathways, apprenticeships, and training programs. Conduct workforce needs analysis and collaborate with stakeholders to address training gaps. Build and maintain strong networks with employers, educators, and service providers. Provide ongoing support to young people to help them overcome barriers and stay employed. Track and communicate success stories and insights to inform future strategy About You You’re a connector, a collaborator, and a changemaker. You thrive in dynamic environments and bring a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset to everything you do. This role offers flexibility and can be either0.8 FTE or full‑time, depending on your availability and preferences. Your Experience : Proven background in workforce development, employment services, or youth engagement. Familiarity with AIP2 principles, Asset Based Community Development, and stakeholder engagement. Formal qualification in social work, education, community development, or a related field (e.g. bachelor’s degree or relevant vocational training) will be highly regarded. Your Skills : Strong communication, coordination, and problem‑solving abilities. Critical thinking and initiative to work independently. Your Mindset : Collaborative, proactive, and passionate about regional growth.
