Domestic/Laundry Assistant

We believe that’s what makes us truly different We are currently seeking two dedicated Domestic Assistants / Laundry Assistants to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Fields Aged Care Home located in Eaton. Co-located with a retirement village, Bethanie Fields is a 160 bed facility designed specifically to provide support for people who need 24 hour care, including those with special care needs and dementia. To be successful in this role, you will have experience in cleaning and / or laundering practices and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture. This role is offered on a casual basis. About You Previous experience working as a Domestic Assistant / Cleaner or Laundry Assistant, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents Reliable with a strong work ethic Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations (minimum of one covid vaccination and annual flu vaccination) Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to apply for one) The Roles Domestic Assistant Ensuring bathrooms, toilets, furniture, fittings, floors and communal areas are kept clean and tidy Ensuring supplies are stocked across the facility Liaising with other employees to ensure the needs of our residents are met Ensuring residents' personal clothing is individually labelled and put away in their rooms, identifying items that require mending Laundry Assistant Ensuring all laundry and linen is laundered correctly and infection control practices are adhered to Sorting and washing linen by wash temperature, colour, degree of soiling, infectious nature, fabric and fibre Loading and unloading washing machines and tumble dryers Sorting and folding clean and dry linen Reporting damage or wear and recommending repairs or replacement Working with Bethanie Many of us work because we want to make a difference.
