What Does the Job Look Like? Are you an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic seeking a role with less heavy lifting and a greater focus on precision servicing? Key Responsibilities Carry out routine servicing tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to keep vehicles running smoothly and meeting emissions standards. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic tools and systems. Inspect engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for wear or issues, without the need for heavy overhauls. Replace defective parts and reassemble components with precision, referring to service manuals as required. Conduct vehicle inspections and prepare detailed reports or issue roadworthy certificates. Test and adjust mechanical systems post-service to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Provide occasional on-site support for breakdowns, focusing on quick fixes to get vehicles back on the road. This role allows you to focus on high-quality service work without the strain of major rebuilds or warranty repairs. Are You the One? We are looking for : Qualifications & Experience: A recognised Mechanical Trade qualification with proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is essential. Attention to Detail : Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals accurately. Licensing : An HGV licence is desirable but not essential. Time Management : Strong ability to adhere to schedules whilst maintaining quality standards. Customer Focus : Excellent communication skills with a customer-first mindset. Positive Attitude : A proactive approach to work, with a commitment to safety and teamwork.
