As a leading Victorian landscape company, our Melbourne business is continually expanding with new projects. We are now looking for the services of experienced, enthusiastic and motivated people to work on commercial landscape maintenance projects throughout Southeast Melbourne. About the Role We are currently seeking a reliable Mower Operator for our ground crew to look after our Knox Council Contract. This includes reserves and streetscapes across the Knox Council suburbs. We specifically require someone who has experience using John Deere 1580 mowers. You will need to be able to work independently, be accountable for your own work and be a great communicator. This position is offered on a full-time basis and operated out of our yard in Hallam and is available for an immediate start. Requirements Landscape maintenance experience and/or trade qualification (working towards) in Parks & Gardens or Horticulture (preferred but not essential). Experience with John Deere 1580 ride on mowers, blowers, hedgers, whipper snippers, hand tools and power tools (preferred but not essential, training can be provided). Experience towing trailers First Aid Certificate (an advantage). Traffic Management Qualification (an advantage). Proof of right to work in Australia. Strong commitment to safe work practices. High level of personal work standards. Ability to work independently and have excellent time management skills. Capacity to work in all weather conditions. Responsibilities Reporting to the site supervisor you will be responsible for: Maintaining large turf areas with ride on mowers, whipper snippers and edgers. Setting up and following traffic management plans. Blowing down pathways. General tidy up and making playgrounds, parks and streetscapes safe. Documenting and reporting on equipment faults. Delivering a high-quality end product to exceed client's expectations. Meet timelines and budgets. Caring for machinery and equipment, reporting any issues to your supervisor.
