Our core mission is to bring Bitcoin to people around the world, unlocking new use cases and products. The Bitcoin Platform Trading team focuses on backend, security, and blockchain engineering. As an engineer on the team you will design, build, and operate systems that support millions of users and large volumes of trade, shaping how the platform manages Bitcoin liquidity and ensures product efficiency and simplicity. The role is distributed, with team members in the U.S. and Australia collaborating to drive a future‑proof platform. We’re scaling rapidly and excited to grow the team this year. You Will Deliver high‑impact technical solutions, lead resolution of complex, ambiguous problems, and shape architecture and technical innovation. Shape strategy by defining vision and long‑term technical roadmaps. Partner with senior stakeholders to align engineering decisions with broader strategy. Build trusted relationships across functions, fostering clarity and shared context, and guiding decisions across diverse perspectives. Drive stewardship of technical excellence and developer experience by setting and reinforcing technical standards, modeling behavior, and providing feedback and support. Work in a highly collaborative environment offering flexibility and autonomy to perform at your best. Be on‑call for the services you build, driving visibility into systems and business operations through observability tools like Datadog. You Have Demonstrable technical expertise in distributed system architecture and/or the digital asset domain with organizational influence and impact. A history of contributing to and driving all parts of the software development life cycle. Experience building backend systems at scale, using modern eventing, database, and infrastructure tooling. A pragmatic focus on delivery and business outcomes. A passion to learn about and contribute to the dynamic world of Bitcoin and digital assets. A history of leading by example and mentoring others to level up their skills.
