We are now looking for a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) & HR Manager who shares our values and thrives in a fast-moving industrial environment. You’ll play a vital role in guiding our teams across Australia, supporting our branch managers, and helping us deliver on our commitment to Zero Harm, people wellbeing, and operational excellence. Your Role in Shaping a Safer Future This is a hands-on national role with regular travel, supporting branch managers who lead HSE on-site. Your focus will be coaching, guiding, and providing support systems to strengthen our safety culture and people practices. You’ll also offer HR advice to ensure consistent and fair practices across the business. What You’ll Be Doing Health, Safety & Environment (Primary Focus): Support and guide branch managers in applying for Kempe’s HSE Management System Strengthening the Zero Harm culture through leadership conversations and site engagement Assist with incident response and corrective action planning Drive simplification and clarity in safety processes and documentation Monitor HSE data, identify trends, and support branches to improve outcomes Promote a visible, practical approach to safety leadership at all levels Works within Kempe’s HSE framework to help branches meet agreed KPIs and safety outcomes Human Resources (Support Function): Provide HR support on onboarding, induction, and day-to-day people matters Assist leaders with low-level employee concerns and coaching conversations Reinforce consistency and fairness in policy application Liaise with the corporate People team on complex issues or escalations Encourage a culture grounded in the Kempe Way, strong values and honest leadership Support community sponsorship initiatives that align with Kempe’s values and regional presence Contribute to talent development programs including apprenticeships, graduate pathways, and internal succession planning About You Diploma or higher in Health, Safety & Environment (or similar) Experience working across onsite and offsite environments within engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance sectors Knowledge of Australian HSE legislation and safety systems Able to provide practical, on-the-ground HR support to operational leaders and their teams Strong communication and coaching skills Willingness and ability to travel regularly Why Kempe?
