We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HSE Advisor, to join our Olympic Dam mining team on a 12-month fixed term FIFO contract from Adelaide. The HSE Advisor will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, maintaining high safety standards, and promoting a culture of safety and quality on-site, throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to make a significant impact on the success and safety of our projects. Key Responsibilities Maintain the project HSE Management Systems to ensure Ahrens & site compliance; Ensure processes and procedures with projects are relevant and complete, underpin efficient operation, and are standardised where appropriate; Preparation of project management plans and other related HSE documentation; Maintain safety and general noticeboards with up‑to‑date and relevant information; Work with supervisors and managers to review and improve, Safe Work Method Statements, Standard Operating Procedures and Plant and Equipment management; Support operational teams with HSE activities and initiatives on permanent and temporary sites such as but not limited to; Conducting Daily Site Walkarounds, HSE Inspections, Plant Inspections and Safe behaviour observations to support project teams to ensure sites are set up safely. Participation in coordination meetings, toolbox talks, HSE Meetings. Conducting verification of competencies. Coordinate projects auditing of operations from a HSE perspective; Work with managers and employees throughout the project lifecycle to ensure WHS and environment management are integral parts of the Ahrens culture; Continue to develop and integrate the HSE Management System by assessing the needs of each project and implementing systems and processes inline with company HSE requirements and expectation; Communicate new HSE systems, policies and procedures to employees and ensure requirements are understood; Participate in incident investigations of operations from a HSE perspective; Support project teams and provide advice and ideas so they can meet their safety obligations; Ensure accurate records, training certificates, inspection reports and other documents are appropriately filed on databases and systems and readily available on request; Support the development and implementation of new HSE programs and training initiatives. Skills and Experience Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety; Certificate IV in Training & Assessment; Construction Industry White Card; Applied First Aid and CPR competency; Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the construction industry; Experience delivering WHS services to construction, manufacturing or production enterprises; In depth knowledge of WHS practices and principles and current legislative requirements, and hands on experience in monitoring and reviewing WHS systems, procedures and practices; Effective written and oral communication skills including proven skills in negotiating, developing and managing cooperative working relationships, and resolving issues constructively; General Knowledge of Systems, Procedures and Document Control principles; About the Company Ahrens is a fifth‑generation, Australian family‑owned company, with over 120 years' experience in delivering a wide range of high‑quality and cost‑effective products and projects across Australia, with footprints overseas.
