First Nations Graduate Pharmacist, Queensland Health Graduate Opportunity – Build your skills in Mount Isa Start your career with purpose as a First Nations Graduate Allied Health Professional in Mount Isa. You’ll deliver inpatient and outpatient services, gain broad generalist experience in a supportive remote health setting, and complete the First Nations Graduate Pathway, including funded leadership training, weekly development time, and regular cultural and clinical mentoring. This opportunity is open to a variety of allied health disciplines including Pharmacy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Podiatry, and Exercise Physiology. Temporary Full-Time role (two years). North West Hospital and Health Service (HHS) Friendly communities Regional, rural and remote incentives Working with us Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 per fortnight. Eligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum. Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas will be entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum. Staff accommodation pending eligibility. Mount Isa is a great place to live and work About the role Join a supportive team as a First Nations Graduate Pharmacist, delivering evidence-based care in a remote setting. Build broad skills through a structured pathway with professional development, supervision, and cultural mentoring while contributing to safe, effective medication management. In this role you will: Deliver clinical pharmacy services under supervision, including medication reviews and discharge counselling. Rotate through dispensary and clinical areas to build broad inpatient and outpatient skills. Participate in the First Nations Graduate Pathway with dedicated training, mentoring, and supervision. Contribute to quality improvement and service development. Support students and pharmacy staff while promoting culturally safe and inclusive care. Requirements Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community. Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences. Pre‑employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks. This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis. A period of probation may apply.
