About the role Our Head of Assurance, Reporting, and Compliance role will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that BUPA Villages and Aged Care (BVAC) Australia operates in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies to help BVAC be the most trusted provider of residential aged care. In addition, you will be responsible for managing and supervising BVAC AU’s assurance, reporting, and compliance requirements. In this role you will have the opportunity to : Develop, manage, and oversee the BVAC AU control assurance plan for the uplift and ongoing management and maintenance of controls within BVAC AU including reporting on outcomes, results, and recommendations. Influence Leaders and stakeholders assisting them to better understand the adequacy and effectiveness of controls in place or required to manage key risks in delivering BVAC AU strategy and objectives. Deliver insightful reporting on assurance outcomes and work with stakeholders to determine where remedial action is required. Direct the preparation and dissemination of accurate and timely reports for the BVAC AU Risk and Governance forums. Identify opportunities to uplift risk reporting to provide proactive insights for the business. Oversee the collection and analysis of data from various sources to produce meaningful reports. Implement data quality controls to ensure accuracy and consistency. Provide actionable insights derived from reports to help the leadership team make data‑driven decisions. Provide advice to the business on non‑clinical compliance requirements to ensure compliance with obligations. Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations, assessing their impact on BVAC AU, and proactively engage stakeholders and adapt policies and procedures to remain compliant. Develop and implement BVAC AU risk culture plan working with Leaders to ensure it aligns to “the Bupa Way”. Ensure that care homes are prepared for emergency response situations and work with the business to provide support in the event of an emergency. Build and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders. Provide leadership and coaching to drive development and improvement opportunities within the team. To be successful in this role, you should have : Tertiary qualifications in business, risk management, or a related discipline. Experience 10+ years in risk management and / or quality management roles in large organisations in health care, insurance, and / or financial services. Experience in design and documenting controls as well as developing control test scripts, and undertaking controls assurance. Strong analytical, verbal and written reporting skills to communicate risk concepts and deliver meaningful information to Leaders. Strong foundation in logic and highly attuned process orientation, with a focus on root cause analysis and cause / effect. A proven track record of effective stakeholder management and successfully driving outcomes. Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes through consultation and collaboration. Critical thinking analysing and evaluating information to make informed decisions and solve problems.
