Marlin Group is looking to add a Business Analyst to our corporate team to assist in the execution of the Group’s broader objectives. Marlin Group is a privately‑owned investment company focused on opportunities in hospitality, brewing, agriculture and property. We operate six popular and diverse venues in WA and NT, as well as an award‑winning craft beer brand. About this role The requirements of the role will vary week to week as duties will shift with the performance of the Group’s businesses, market conditions, system requirements and new ventures. The candidate will report directly to the Group’s executive team and receive direct mentorship from the Group’s Chief Executive Officer. This role would suit someone in the final year of their University degree, preferably in a financial discipline. This position is initially for a period of three months on a part time basis and may be followed by a permanent full‑time role in which we can provide the required flexibility to finish your degree. Key Responsibilities Using Microsoft Excel to assess investment decisions, review potential acquisitions & investments, and identify business improvement opportunities Managing and improving group‑wide weekly reporting to keep senior management informed of the performance of the business Market analysis across the property and hospitality sectors Reviewing government policy, legislation and case law to ensure the Group’s practices are compliant with current requirements Reviewing important documents for internal and external stakeholders as well as managing regulatory applications The implementation of a new learning resource management system for the group and assisting in its integration with existing system Creating financial models and presentations fit for use in developing partnerships and funding projects Supporting decision‑making with insights derived from data visualisation and reporting tools Analysing sales, costs, and profitability data to support decision‑making processes Requirements Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word Strong attention to detail and numerical and analytical ability Ability to plan effectively and adapt to changing priorities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Why Choose Us?
