Senior Consultant – Applications at Verse Group Base pay range : A$130,000.00/yr - A$180,000.00/yr About the Role A Principal Software Engineer position is available with a product based business in the asset management sector. This is a newly created role designed to add technical seniority and coverage across a busy, growing engineering team. You will work closely with the Head of Software to ensure projects are well architected, maintain technical direction, and keep delivery moving at pace. As the team expands, this role is critical in supporting and guiding junior developers, helping to divide and conquer the work while keeping standards high. This is a hands on position, with around 70 per cent of your time spent designing, coding, reviewing, and providing technical support, while the remainder involves mentoring and technical leadership. You will be working on the organisation’s flagship SaaS platform, contributing to architecture, delivery, and scaling their AWS based systems that process large amounts of data. The role is fully office based from its modern Perth CBD headquarters. Requirements 5 to 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer, including at least 5 years working with complex systems or architecture related work Proven hands on experience with AWS infrastructure, including designing and supporting scalable systems that handle high data volumes Solid understanding of Elasticsearch and related data tools Experience with PostgreSQL and general data integration or ETL processes Ability to provide technical mentorship and conduct code reviews for junior developers Strong problem solving skills, communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering leadership Exposure to machine learning concepts is beneficial Nice to Have Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform or Ansible Familiarity with Vue Previous exposure to SaaS or product based environments The Benefits Salary from $130k to $180k plus super , depending on capability Work on a high impact SaaS product with a significant roadmap Opportunity to lead by example, influence architecture, and mentor others Collaborative and learning focused culture Centrally located Grade 1 Perth CBD offices How to Apply If this opportunity resonates with you, please apply.
