Senior CNC Machinist – Afternoon Shift Location: Geelong, VIC Pay: $48/hr + shift loading + Team Leader allowance Recruiter: Chandler Macleod We are partnering with a leading precision engineering company in Geelong to hire a Senior CNC Machinist for the afternoon shift. This is a full-time role offering a competitive hourly rate, shift loading, and a Team Leader allowance. In this role, you will be a pivotal member of the machining team, reporting to the Shift Supervisor. You will set up and operate CNC lathes and mills to produce precision components used in industries such as Defence, Aerospace, and Automotive. You will ensure all components meet specifications, contribute to continuous improvement, and assist in mentoring and training junior team members. Key responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills to produce precision parts. Ensure components meet specifications using measuring tools such as micrometres, Verniers, gauges, and bore gauges. Operate machinery safely in accordance with OH&S standards and maintain a clean, safe workspace. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance output, quality, cost, and delivery. Assist in training team members and resolving machining problems. Maintain oversight of production quality and schedules, minimising scrap and rework. Participate in daily team meetings and maintain 5S standards throughout the department. Skills and experience required: Extensive CNC machining experience on lathes and mills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience with precision measuring equipment. Strong commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
