Job Description This position provides a unique opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates to gain experience in research consultancy. Due to growth, we have a wonderful opportunity for a Research Assistant work alongside our specialist First Nations Research Division. ORIMA Research is committed to training, developing, and providing pathways for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, and this position is an ideal opportunity for a graduate level researcher to be trained for a career as a research consultant. No previous research experience is required. Our graduate program provides the opportunity and support to learn and develop social research skills, as well as the technical and non-technical skills required for a successful career in the research consulting industry. We have a dedicated First Nations Research Division which is made up of experienced researchers who work alongside ORIMA Research’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Principal Advisor, N’arweet Dr Carolyn Briggs, Elder and Traditional Owner, as well as our team of First Nations Community Interviewers. The following are desirable butnot essential: Knowledge, connection, and experiences with diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to conduct culturally informed and appropriate research An understanding of the public sector environment or an interest and willingness to learn about the sector Exposure to focus groups or moderation / facilitation – you may have participated in market research or other group facilitation activities Experience in conducting in-depth interviews and qualitative research analysis.
