Responsibilities This role sits in the Unloan In-Life crew which is responsible for building a digital‑first customer experience. From web through to native mobile app experiences, up and down the full banking stack, you will bring your skills to the table and deliver capabilities that our customers love. You will be responsible for shaping the evolution of the end‑to‑end customer experience by designing and developing micro‑services, data access layers, GraphQL types, managing new and existing REST API(s) and integrating third‑party API. You will manage risks with feature toggles, continuous deployments and effective automated testing. You will create well‑engineered, scalable, and reliable solutions, work on automated testing, ensuring that our code is robust and maintainable. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the high standards of our system and contributing to its continuous improvement and evolution. Qualifications Comfortable being independent workers and pulling tasks and running an initiative through to completion Prides themselves in designing, developing and deploying high‑quality software solutions and contributing to the culture of the overall team Interested in the home lending space – a deep domain with multiple facets and complexities Well‑versed in building unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests and knowing how to make them effective Strong understanding and hands‑on experience in DevSecOps principles and practices Comfortable mentoring junior engineers, sharing knowledge to uplift and improve software development practices Team players who enjoy peer design/code reviews applying software reuse principles and creating creative solutions to debt management Confident demonstrating coding, design, debugging and problem‑solving skills Skills & Technologies TypeScript, NodeJS, NextJS, GraphQL, React AWS or Azure knowledge Containerization such as Docker or Kubernetes CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, TeamCity, Artifactory, Octopus Deploy Splunk or Observability experience Automation test frameworks such as Selenium or Playwright Working with Us Whether you’re passionate about customer service, driven by data, or called by creativity, a career with CommBank is for you.
