Occupational Therapist – Royal Far West ABOUT THE POSITION We are inviting applications for a Level 1–2 Occupational Therapist in the Schools and Early Years team at Royal Far West. As an Occupational Therapist you will provide high‑quality occupational therapy services to preschool and school‑aged children. You will work in a multidisciplinary team alongside speech pathologists, psychologists and social workers, ensuring holistic care for each client. A substantial portion of your caseload will be individual therapy. You will also support parents and school staff to meet student needs, and may provide assessment services, group therapy, and professional development for school staff. A typical day involves seeing 4–5 clients and attending a team or supervision meeting. Royal Far West delivers services to children in rural and remote communities; you should be able to demonstrate culturally responsive care and a commitment to ongoing learning in this area. Structured Induction program Multidisciplinary collaboration – face‑to‑face services with resident paediatricians, psychiatrists, psychologists, speech pathologists and social workers Established Telehealth program – training, online resources, and administrative support; HP laptop with an additional monitor supplied Career progression – opportunities in quality improvement and research initiatives In‑community visit opportunities – up to two week‑long visits per year Remote working arrangements – WFH and flexible schedules available Attractive remuneration – base salary plus 12% superannuation and salary packaging; see details at Paid parental leave – 14 weeks for staff with over one year of service Additional paid care days – up to five per year Purchase Leave Scheme QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy with current membership or eligibility for AHPRA Registration Demonstrated understanding of paediatric Occupational Therapy core components (regulation, sensory processing, motor skills, self‑care, play, social skills) Ability to plan and deliver assessment, intervention, case management and discharge planning for children 0‑12 years with developmental vulnerability Effective written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and file notes Awareness of Child Safe practices, including legislation, policy and procedures Understanding of family‑centred and strengths‑based care Compliance with Mandatory Employment Screening Checks and Workforce Immunisation Policy Commitment to diverse and inclusive practices; awareness of issues faced by CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities Highly developed computer skills with Microsoft Teams, Zoom and telehealth delivery experience Ability to travel for outreach in rural and remote communities and possession of a full, current driver’s licence Experience working within a school setting or in collaboration with schools Experience working with children/adolescents with disability and/or complex developmental, social‑emotional, learning and behavioural challenges OUR CULTURE & CORE VALUES Royal Far West is a rewarding, inspiring workplace that nurtures a diverse, innovative multidisciplinary clinical team.
