Trading Engineer (Java) - Rates and Credit Fixed Income - AVP Job ID : R Full / Part-Time : Full-time Regular / Temporary : Regular Listed : Location : Sydney Position Overview Details of the Division and Team : You will play a key role in the transformation of Rates and Credit Fixed Income technology landscape. As part of our multi‑year platform modernisation project, you will be responsible for building a suite of new, real‑time, high‑performance applications supporting various trading workflows. You will be involved in building solutions across the stack and working closely with Business stakeholders to build a maintainable, operationally efficient and scalable platform to last the next decade. Drive Full‑Stack Solution Design – collaborate with engineers across the stack to design and deliver end‑to‑end solutions. Engage Directly with Business Stakeholders to gather requirements, understand workflows and rapidly deliver impactful features that improve business efficiency Your skills and experience : Solid Core Java Skills – Good understanding of Java fundamentals (5+ years experience), including object‑oriented programming, collections, exception handling and concurrency programming. Experience with reactive programming models is a plus. Distributed Systems and Event‑Driven Architecture – Experience with microservice concepts and frameworks, including event‑driven architectures, with a desire to build deeper expertise. Integration, API Development and Databases – Experience in designing, building and deploying RESTful and event‑driven APIs, with foundational knowledge of SQL and relational database design, plus exposure to containerisation tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. Appreciation of Front‑End Technologies – Awareness of UI constraints and experience with React and Typescript is a plus.
