This is a physically demanding, fast-paced role perfect for someone who thrives on teamwork, variety, and action. You’ll be setting up venues, serving guests, packing down events, and ensuring everything runs seamlessly from start to finish. You’ll support the Events Management Team by assisting with the setup, service, and pack down of a wide range of events — from beachfront dinners to black-tie galas. Where you’ll make an impact Set up and pack down event spaces – move, lift, and arrange furniture, marquees, and catering equipment Provide attentive food and beverage service throughout each event Respond promptly to guest requests with professionalism and positivity Work closely with the Events Management Team to deliver seamless, high-quality service Maintain strict standards of safety, cleanliness, and presentation Handle physical tasks safely and efficiently – teamwork and stamina are key Assist with stock control, equipment care, and general venue readiness Contribute to a strong team culture built on communication, reliability, and respect What we’re looking for You’re a team player with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a love of being on your feet in a lively, changing environment. You take pride in hard work and enjoy being part of a team that makes memorable moments happen. To be successful, you will need : Ability to work long hours on your feet and handle physical duties safely Willingness to work varied shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Prior experience in hospitality, banquets, or events (preferred) Strong beverage, wine, and cocktail knowledge (essential) Current Nationally Recognised RSA Certificate (essential) Valid Driver’s Licence (essential) Impeccable grooming and personal presentation About Hamilton Island Our mission is to share the wonder of Hamilton Island with the world by creating wonder-filled experiences for our guests, employees and community.
