St Vincent de Paul Society NSW – Newtown NSW Vinnies shops Our Vinnies shops are a well‑established and much‑loved part of the Aussie retail landscape. Aside from being an op‑shop mecca for fans of all things quality and thrift, the shops generate revenue for our broad range of services supporting the community and may also be a first point of contact for people seeking emergency assistance. As a Retail Volunteer, you will play a central role in the operations of the shop, making a significant and valuable contribution to the St Vincent de Paul Society. The Volunteer Role The Retail Volunteer will perform a variety of tasks, including: Providing customers with an excellent shopping experience Sorting and pricing donations Assisting with product display Processing sales through the Point of Sale (POS) cash register Keeping the store and sorting area tidy, whilst maintaining safe work practices Who we are looking for People who are welcoming, encouraging and positive Willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society Respectful of others and flexible in their attitude to work and the team With good time management and the initiative to get the job done No experience is required; in‑store coaching and training is provided. Volunteers with previous retail or hospitality backgrounds are encouraged to share their experience with their fellow volunteers.
