About Kid Kyoto Kid Kyoto is not your average Japanese restaurant. Located near Wynyard, we’re known for our unique fusion of Japanese-inspired flavours with a fun, rock-and-roll attitude. We pride ourselves on a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative kitchen where creativity and passion are celebrated. We are seeking a talented and reliable Sous Chef to join our energetic team. The Role This is a Full Time position, work hours including nights and weekends. You will work closely with our Head Chef and team members to deliver an unforgettable dining experience. Key Responsibilities Execute food preparation, cooking, and presentation with high standards & consistency. Adherence to all NSW Food Safety and WHS regulations, with strong focus on maintaining a clean & organised work stations. Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient service. Working on various stations (hot, cold, and grill) as required. Assist with stock control, ordering, and supplier communication Contribute to a positive, collaborative, professional kitchen culture. Provide guidance & support to junior chefs. About You Proven experience as a Jr sous/ Sous Chef in a high-volume or quality-driven kitchen Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to remain composed and effective under pressure High level of organisation and accountability Passion for food and continuous improvement Reliable, resilient, and team-oriented mindset Experience with Japanese cuisine is a bonus but not essential.
