If so, we encourage you to apply today We’re seeking a Trainee Casino Technician to join our team at The Reef Hotel Casino, the pre-eminent centre for gaming, entertainment, food and accommodation in Cairns. What you’ll learn (and do) Install and configure electronic gaming equipment. Diagnose and repair electronic gaming equipment. Maintain and repair electromechanical gaming equipment such as card shufflers, gaming chip sorters, and money counters. Prioritise repairs and maintenance works. Computer networks and data communications systems. What we’re looking for An interest in hands‑on work across various technical systems and equipment. A technically-minded individual with proficient computer/technology skills. A positive attitude, willing to learn and be involved. Ability to learn quickly and problem-solve. Good public relations and communication skills. Flexibility with shift work arrangements and the ability to work weekends. Casino opening hours are 10am - 2am Sunday to Thursday; and 10am - 4am Friday and Saturday. All Electronic Gaming employees are required to possess a current Queensland Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG) and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Attainment Certificate. License Requirement This position requires a Casino Key Employee Licence. If you are not an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia and over the age of 18 years , your application will not be considered for this role. Appointment is contingent upon final license approval and individual security (probity) clearances from the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation.
