About the role We are looking for a Senior Java Developer who is keen to drive solutions for complex problems individually and in a team‑based environment. The IT Payments Applications team is responsible for delivering critical upgrades and enhancements to the national real‑time payment infrastructure. Perform systems analysis and design of changes to systems. Maintain a working knowledge of tools and software packages used. Undertake research including the evaluation of new software, tools, and techniques, ensuring they are fit to the Bank's enterprise architecture and standards. Work collaboratively with business stakeholders and peers to refine business requirements and to ensure they are met. Comply with and contribute to development of the Bank's policies, standards, and guidelines for software development, as well as tool selection. Lead the identification, breakdown of development components, tasks, and estimations. Guide other developers as they work through development decisions. Support cross‑team collaboration. Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation. Undertake coding for systems, integration software services and perform code reviews for other developers. Ensure written unit and integration tests for all developed code follow Bank's standards and maintain test coverage. Exposure to critical national infrastructure in the payment systems domain. About you Hands‑on knowledge of Java/Spring technologies (Embedded Tomcat, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, etc.). In‑depth knowledge of XML technologies. Proficient in Linux (RHEL) configuration specific to application deployments. Proficient in RESTful and SOAP web services. Experience with Git and CI/CD techniques and processes. Knowledge of Oracle Exadata and SQL Server highly regarded. Knowledge of ORM tools for database management (Hibernate/JPA). Familiarity with integration technologies including MQ. Familiarity with Angular highly regarded. Familiarity with release platforms like Jenkins and Azure DevOps. Have a curious and accountable mindset. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in a cross‑functional team environment.
