Short Term Contract – Mental Health Registered Nurse (Inpatient Centre) – Hobart, Tasmania Job Type: Temporary position | Part‑time position Job Description Agency rates: $$$Accommodation provided Travel allowance Contract dates: 24/11/2025 to 31/01/2026 We are looking for a Registered Nurse/RN in Mental Health to join a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality mental‑health services in accordance with the Statewide Mental Health Services Strategic Plan and National Mental Health Standards. The role will involve: Undertake the delivery of nursing care to consumers based on best practice principles, person‑centred, recovery‑orientated and trauma‑informed care within a collaborative multidisciplinary framework. Provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, active therapeutic engagement, monitoring and review of mental state and response to treatments, and ongoing psychotherapeutic work using a range of modalities and techniques. Complete all required clinical documentation, including assessments, risk assessments, transfer of care, relevant clinical correspondence and clinical data collection within specified timeframes, predominantly via electronic consumer records systems. Contribute to a strong team approach through open communication by participating in team meetings and committees that enhance the function of the unit, consumer care and teamwork. Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and provide information to other agencies regarding the support and management of consumers with mental‑health needs. Successful candidates will hold medical registration with AHPRA (or be eligible to register), be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse, hold a Working with Vulnerable People registration (Tas), and have experience in high‑dependency and acute mental‑health settings. Candidates must also have the right to work in Australia.
